OpenAI and Oracle are expanding their Stargate initiative with an additional 4.5 gigawatts of data center capacity across the US, bringing the total to over 5 gigawatts. This $500 billion investment will support more than 2 million chips for AI processing and create over 100,000 jobs. The project advances OpenAI's commitment to develop 10 gigawatts of US AI infrastructure within four years. Stargate I in Abilene, Texas is already operational with early workloads, and Oracle has started delivering Nvidia GB200 racks to power next-generation AI models. The partnership, which includes SoftBank, aims to maintain US leadership in global AI development.
