Arm has launched Lumex, a new mobile chip architecture designed specifically for AI processing on edge devices without cloud connectivity. The lineup includes four chip designs optimized for the 3nm manufacturing process, ranging from wearables to flagship smartphones. Key innovations include SME2 technology delivering up to 4.7x faster voice processing, the Mali G1-Ultra GPU for desktop-grade gaming, and improved power efficiency with up to 15% reduction compared to previous generations. Early partners include Alibaba and Samsung, with Lumex-powered devices expected to reach the market by early next year.
