AI infrastructure firm TensorWave raises $100 million in latest funding

AI Infrastructure Startup Sets Sights on Scalable Cloud Services

Las Vegas-based AI infrastructure startup TensorWave has raised $100 million in a Series A funding round to accelerate the deployment of scalable, high-performance GPU clusters powered by AMD hardware. The round was co-led by Magnetar and AMD Ventures, with additional backing from Maverick Silicon, Nexus Venture Partners, and Prosperity7, the investment arm of Aramco. This brings TensorWave’s total funding to $146.7 million.

Scaling Up to Meet Surging AI Compute Demand

Founded in 2023 by Darrick Horton, Jeff Tatarchuk, and Piotr Tomasik, TensorWave specializes in delivering cloud services optimized for AI workloads on AMD-based GPU infrastructure. With the latest funding, the company plans to:
  • Expand deployment of its GPU clusters, including the world’s largest AI training cluster featuring 8,192 AMD Instinct MI325X GPUs
  • Grow its workforce from 40 to over 100 employees by the end of 2025
  • Support ongoing operational growth as demand for AI compute surges

A Market Ready for Competition

The AI infrastructure market is expected to reach $356 billion by 2032, fueled by rapid growth in generative AI and large language models such as ChatGPT and others[4]. While dominant players like Nvidia have historically set the pace, TensorWave’s focus on AMD-powered servers offers an attractive alternative for developers and enterprises frequently limited by GPU shortages and capacity bottlenecks[1][4].

Democratizing Access to Advanced AI Compute

TensorWave CEO Darrick Horton highlighted the company’s mission: providing affordable, scalable infrastructure to democratize access to the latest AI computing resources. With its purpose-built clusters, TensorWave enables researchers and developers to train advanced models without being held back by traditional cloud limitations. “Horton emphasized that the company is on track to exceed $100 million in run-rate revenue by the end of 2025—a 20x year-over-year increase—reflecting ballooning interest in AI infrastructure alternatives”[1].

Technical Leadership and Vision

The founders bring decades of experience in engineering and high-performance computing. Both Tatarchuk and Tomasik have deep technical roots, and their shared experience overcoming fragmented GPU access directly inspired TensorWave’s mission to build a unified, high-capacity compute platform[4].

Looking Ahead

With fresh funding and a rapidly expanding team, TensorWave is positioning itself as a leading provider of AMD-native cloud infrastructure for AI workflows. As the industry continues to evolve, the company’s ability to bridge gaps in compute supply will be watched closely by startups and enterprises pushing the boundaries of artificial intelligence.
