France's Mistral launches Europe's first AI reasoning model

German utility RWE has formed a strategic partnership with Amazon to advance both companies' clean energy goals. RWE will supply renewable electricity to Amazon's global tech infrastructure, supporting Amazon's aim to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2040 and source 100% renewable energy. RWE is accelerating its own energy transition by moving its coal phase-out to 2030 and increasing investments in renewables. This collaboration serves as a model for utility-tech partnerships in advancing global renewable energy adoption and climate action.

Micron Technology has announced a $200 billion investment to expand U.S. semiconductor manufacturing and research operations. The company will allocate $150 billion for memory manufacturing facilities in Idaho, New York, and Virginia, and $50 billion for R&D. This expansion will create approximately 90,000 jobs, secure 40% of Micron's DRAM production in the U.S., advance domestic AI capabilities through high-bandwidth memory packaging, and strengthen America's position in global technology. Spanish AI startup Multiverse Computing raised $217M in Series B funding led by Bullhound Capital to revolutionize AI efficiency. Their CompactifAI tool uses quantum-inspired tensor networks to compress AI models by up to 95% while maintaining accuracy, reducing energy use and costs by up to 80%. The technology works with leading LLM architectures and increases inference speed by 50-80%. The funding raises the company's valuation to over $500M.

Brainlab, a German medical technology company, is planning an IPO on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange to raise up to €200 million. The company aims to expand into new clinical fields and enhance its digital health platform. Known for software supporting surgeries and tumor radiation therapies, Brainlab serves about 4,000 healthcare institutions across 120 countries. In the first half of fiscal 2024/25, it reported €239 million in revenue with a 22.4% operating profit margin.
