Lenovo and NVIDIA have unveiled a new AI Cloud Gigafactory initiative designed to help AI cloud providers deploy large-scale artificial intelligence infrastructure faster and more efficiently. The announcement was made during Lenovo’s Tech World event at CES 2026 in Las Vegas, where Lenovo Chairman and CEO Yuanqing Yang was joined on stage by NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang to introduce the gigawatt-scale AI factory program.
The AI Cloud Gigafactory is positioned as a response to the surging demand for compute power driven by next-generation AI workloads, including trillion-parameter models, agentic AI systems and high-performance computing environments. Instead of treating AI infrastructure as fragmented hardware projects, the program frames AI data centers as “factories” built to industrial standards of scale, efficiency and repeatability.
According to the companies, value in the AI era is increasingly measured not just by raw compute capacity, but by how quickly that capacity can be turned into production-ready services and applications. The Gigafactory model aims to make that transition both faster and more predictable for cloud providers and enterprises.
A central metric for the new program is time to first token (TTFT)—the time it takes to bring an AI factory from investment and build-out to the point where it starts generating real inference outputs and revenue. By standardizing designs, pre-integrating components and offering end-to-end services, Lenovo and NVIDIA say they can reduce TTFT from months or years to just weeks for large-scale deployments.
This TTFT focus reflects a broader shift in AI economics from experimentation toward inference-driven, production-focused models, where operational readiness and capital efficiency are as important as the underlying hardware specifications.
The AI Cloud Gigafactory brings together a tightly integrated stack of technologies and services from both companies. This is intended to remove traditional friction points such as multi-vendor coordination, bespoke engineering for every site and lengthy validation cycles.
