Oracle cloud to add xAI's Grok 3 model to lineup for corporate customers

Oracle Partners With xAI to Broaden AI Offerings

Oracle announced on Tuesday that its cloud computing division will now offer the Grok 3 AI model, developed by Elon Musk's artificial intelligence startup xAI, as part of its service lineup for corporate clients. This move extends Oracle's strategy to provide a wide portfolio of popular AI models suitable for integration into enterprise software.

What Is Grok 3?

Grok 3, introduced by xAI in February 2025, is positioned as a competitor to advanced AI models from firms like DeepSeek and ChatGPT (developed by OpenAI). Initially, Grok 3 was accessible to paid subscribers of the X social media platform and through xAI directly. The model is now available to enterprise users via Oracle's cloud infrastructure, enabling businesses to leverage Grok 3’s capabilities while maintaining existing security and compliance protocols.

Enterprise-Focused Features

  • Deep domain knowledge in areas such as finance, healthcare, law, and science
  • Excels at enterprise tasks like data extraction, coding, and summarizing text
  • Text-based input and output with a maximum prompt and response length of 131,072 tokens
  • Structured outputs and function calling via API
  • Available on-demand, ensuring flexibility and scalability for corporate needs

Oracle's Multi-Model Approach

Oracle’s strategy centers on offering a diverse range of AI models instead of building proprietary ones. In addition to Grok 3, Oracle also provides corporate customers access to AI models from Meta Llama, Mistral, and Cohere. This approach allows organizations to select models that best fit their specific business requirements.

"Our goal here is to make sure that we can provide a portfolio of models – we don’t have our own. That’s the current strategy. We are going to be the one that offers all of them," said Karan Batta, senior vice president at Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.

Enhanced Data Security and Flexibility

By deploying xAI’s Grok 3 on Oracle’s secure cloud infrastructure, corporate clients gain access to powerful AI tools while safeguarding their sensitive data under existing Oracle protections. This addresses a significant need for businesses in regulated industries that require tight data control when implementing AI technologies.

Broadening Access to Cutting-Edge AI

With this partnership, Oracle continues its push to make cutting-edge AI models broadly available to enterprise customers, helping organizations tackle complex problems and accelerate digital transformation.
